Modernity and the Gut Symposium

Over two days we welcomed an international delegation of researches exploring the gut and themes of modernity across a wide range of disciplines, including our keynote speaker Professor Jean Walton. We also held a film screening event curated by project artist, Kirsty Hendry.  Full details here

Speaking Patterns

Project artist Kirsty Hendry was joined by composer, performer and sound artist Joe Howe and graphic designer Lucy Watkins. This workshop focussed on thinking about the ways we communicate with our guts and vice-versa. Kirsty, Joe, and Lucy led us to experiment with ways of scoring and transcribing the gut through sound and image.
